The honest answer: it depends on how much material you supply and how much somebody has to invent for you. Post count barely moves the price. Production behind it does.
Posting only, roughly €300 to €600 per month. You supply photos and content, somebody puts them into a template and publishes on schedule. A legitimate answer when someone in-house already produces the content and only consistency is missing.
Management with original design, roughly €600 to €1,500 per month. Editorial plan, designed posts in a recognisable format, community management, monthly reporting. Most serious small and mid-sized engagements in Austria land here.
Management with production, from roughly €1,800 per month. Once you are shooting regularly, production time enters: a shoot day, editing, several versions per clip. Price follows effort, not the number of posts.
Who produces the material? The most common reason for renegotiation. A business that shoots its own photography pays considerably less than one that hands over a blank page.
How many channels? A second channel is not a second checkbox. Instagram and TikTok share raw footage but need their own edits, formats and attention.
Who answers messages? Community management is the part quotes quietly omit and the part that eats the most time in practice. Establish whether replies are included, and within what response time.
Is there ad spend? Advertising is its own line. Management costs a fee; the budget sits on top and belongs to you, not the agency.
If you do not yet know what you want to say, management buys you consistency without direction. Positioning first, channel second. And if referrals already keep you at capacity, social media is an investment in visibility you do not currently need — that is a legitimate decision, not a weakness.
Promised follower counts are the clearest warning: reach is purchasable, relevance is not. Same for flat prices offered without asking what material you have, and “x posts per week” with nothing said about what happens inside those posts.
We work with fixed monthly retainers rather than hourly lists, and settle up front who produces what — because that is the question that decides the price later. For MT GYM23 it turned 2,500 followers into 10,000 in eleven months; the case study has the detail.
For one channel with regular posts, original design and managed community, the realistic range is roughly €600 to €1,500 per month. Below that you are usually buying posting from a template; above it, original photo and video production begins.
Because it needs shoot time, editing and several versions per clip. A graphic post comes out of an existing template in minutes; a usable reel realistically costs one to two hours from raw footage to finished cut.
Reach can move in weeks, trust cannot. Expect three to six months of consistent publishing before enquiries show up reliably — and expect it to fall away again as soon as the consistency does.
